To ensure a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all participants, we have established the following rules. By joining the program, each participant agrees to follow these guidelines:
General Rules
1. Respect Everyone: Treat fellow participants, mentors, and program leaders with kindness and respect.
2. Be Open-Minded: Celebrate differences and listen to others’ perspectives without judgment.
3. Stay Committed: Attend all sessions (in-person or virtual) and participate actively in discussions and activities.
4. Be Yourself: This is a safe space to express yourself, share your thoughts, and celebrate your individuality.
In-Person Rules
1. Arrive on Time: Be punctual and prepared to start the session.
2. Dress Comfortably: Wear appropriate and comfortable clothing suitable for group activities.
3. Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to any safety protocols, such as staying in designated areas and following instructions from program leaders.
4. Keep the Space Clean: Respect the program space by cleaning up after yourself and taking care of shared materials.
Virtual Etiquette
1. Be On Time: Log in to sessions promptly to avoid disruptions.
2. Find a Quiet Space: Participate in sessions from a quiet and distraction-free environment whenever possible.
3. Keep Your Camera On: Keep your camera on during sessions unless otherwise instructed, to help foster connection and engagement.
4. Use Mute When Not Speaking: Mute your microphone when you're not speaking to minimize background noise.
5. Participate Actively: Engage in discussions and activities by raising your hand (virtually or physically) or using the chat feature as instructed.
6. Respect Online Privacy: Do not share program links, screenshots, or recordings without permission.
Behavioral Expectations
1. No Bullying: Bullying, teasing, or exclusion of any kind is strictly prohibited.
2. Be Supportive: Encourage and uplift your peers at all times.
3. Stay Focused: Avoid distractions like phones or unrelated apps during in-person or virtual sessions.
Consequences for Rule Violations
Failure to follow these rules may result in the following steps:
1. First Reminder: A gentle reminder from program leaders to correct the behavior.
2. Second Reminder: A discussion with the participant and their parent/guardian about the behavior.
3. Final Step: Possible removal from the program if the behavior persists.
